September was mainly a month of trying to get ourselves back into the school routine of waking up early, wearing our uniform, pining for summer, and the list goes on and on. The Back-to-School Mass was probably the wake-up call for all of us, students and teachers. To all the new students, teachers, and Father Peter, we truly are grateful that you have chosen to come into our school, and we hope you feel welcomed!

You probably do remember the other important 'event' that occurred this month - ITBS Testing.  I hope that all of us did well, and everyone is most likely wondering what your scores are. Sadly, we have to wait two whole months until THOSE come out. But, now that Testing is over, we can look forward to next month, October!

October is coming up, so I'm certain that all of you are excited for the haunting holiday on the last day of the month.  What was it called again?  Hmm...I think it was called...Halloween!  Don't worry, the Student Council hasn't forgotten about the carnival.  School Spirit has added six NEW games and has decided to replace the Haunted House with more games that you can enjoy!  If you have any suggestions about the carnival, remember to tell your class representative your ideas so they can report it to the Student Council.

We will keep you all posted on the latest information about our school, so check our newspaper frequently and tell others about it. If you have any comments, feel free to talk to one of the St. Anne Cross Chronicles Editors!

October News                    Posted on November 1, 2013, by Sarah Li

The second month of school is over already!  Filled with many activities and events, these thirty-one days passed by in what seemed like only a few moments.  (Well, at least to me it did.)  The first quarter has drawn to an end, and I can tell you that the entire Junior High was waiting in anticipation for their grades. Since high schools take our 7th and 8th grade report cards more seriously than other years, Report Card Day is always a day of anxiety for us.  Be grateful you don't have to worry as much as we do!

The end of October also meant one other thing - Halloween has come and gone. Thanks to the diligence and hard work of the Junior High, especially School Spirit, the Halloween Carnival went smoothly. We hope you remembered all the safety rules that the sixth grade taught us about trick-or-treating, and we also hope you enjoyed all the games and activities!

November News                    Posted on December 5, 2013, by Sarah Li

This month was a flurry of activities, starting with Parent-Teacher Conferences!  We hope you all did well on the ITBS Test.

Remember the holiday at the end of November?  The one with stuffed turkeys, mashed potatoes, roasted ham, and rasberry sauce?  Hope you enjoyed that two-day break with your family!

Next month is December, the month of Christmas.  This means a visit from Santa, and lots and lots of candy canes!  Remember to focus your attention on the birth of Jesus, not of presents and gifts.  Did you know that Christmas trees grow for 15 years before being sold?!

Welcome back from winter break!  Hope you had a relaxing vacation, a very merry Christmas, and a happy New Year.  During this month, we had a very special visitor....Santa Claus!  Those candy canes from the North Pole tasted so good, and Santa's helper elves certainly had dance skills!  Right now, Santa and his elves are probably making presents for next Christmas.  Did you remember to leave out cookies for him?

St. Anne's also hosted a huge event, our Christmas show.  We were definitely all crowd winners, with our angelic singing!  (Click on the School Pictures tab above to check out Christmas show photos.)  Well, we hope that 2014 will be an amazing year for all of you.   Happy New Year!

How's 2014 going?  Hope you're off to a great start!   One important week has passed in this month - Catholic Schools' Week!  During this special week, we honored all Catholic schools and their endurance throughout the years.  From Pajama Day to Chinese New Year Day, we hope you had tons of fun!  (I heard the hot chocolate was more tasty this time.)

Well, now that Catholic Schools' Week is over, it's back to work!  Eighth grade is busy worrying about February 21, Confirmation Day.  It's a very important event in Catholic people's lives.  What's happening in your classrooms?  Hope you're fulfilling your New Year's resolutions!

Besides Valentine's Day, which I'm sure you all enjoyed, there was another event that took place in the St. Anne gym and Moriarty Hall.  Do you all still remember?  It was the Parish Festival!   With all the yummy food, boba drinks, amazing performances, and the exciting games, this year's Festival was truly a success.  For all those who did not come, you missed out on a lot of fun!  There was a countless number of fun games, from the Goldfish Booth to the Balloon Dart Booth.   Among the varieties of food were hamburgers, fries, cakes, pies, and hot dogs.  And last but not least, the performances!  From tap dancing to hula, all the performers were definitely very talented.  If you did not get to come this year, remember to join in the fun next year!

March & April News                 Posted on April 10, 2014, by Sarah Li

As you all know, Movie Day was on April 4th.  Thanks to all your efforts, it was a huge success!  The current 6th and 7th graders really appreciate your donations.  We hope you enjoyed this year's Movie Day!

The stretch from winter break to Easter has been so long.  I'm sure all of you can't wait for spring break, which is coming up on April 17th!  After spring break though, there will be only a few weeks left until summer break arrives.  This also means the eighth grade will be leaving soon, for high school.  We'll definitely miss St. Anne's!

May News                                   Posted on May 25, 2014, by Sarah Li

The month of May was an anxious period of time, what with finals and projects and report cards.  It will also be a sad time, a time when we will have to say our last goodbyes to Father Ray, Miss Emily, and Mrs. Adams.  May will also be the month when the 8th grade will graduate!  The year has gone by so fast for the 8th graders, and though we want to graduate, we will greatly miss all the years we have spent here at St. Anne's.  After our Dinner Dance, picnic, parties, and Luncheon, our Graduation Mass will come.  And after that, we will officially be alumni of St. Anne's.  It's exciting, but we will miss this school and all of you!
